Not unlike the ingredients in a tasty recipe, we each have an integral roll in how things turn out in the projects we take on. Omit one part and things taste a bit…..off. Use the right components and you just might create something downright scrumptious!
What started out as a husband/wife endeavor has now become a whole team effort. As more and more couples approached Josh and me to create their wedding films, we were faced with 2 options: turn them away or expand our team. At the time, we knew of only two other local companies who were doing work we could confidently recommend. Turning couples away was not good enough for us. There was a real need for great cinematography. So we began to hunt for the perfect filmmakers and editors to add to our Sweet Tea formula.
What did our search turn up? First, we stumbled upon Matt. He was a photographer who had some pretty curious work that intrigued us. This guy was creative and different and not stuck in doing things the way everyone else did them. He was fun and energetic and had just the right amount of crazy. One problem….he knew photo; not video. We spent time training him and in no time at all, he was ready to film his first wedding with us in Boston. Three years later, he now shoots about 20 weddings each year and edits our amazing feature films.
More recently, Erica joined the team to help out around the studio. She does a great job managing this nutty place, but we soon realized she was terribly over qualified for that job. Erica is ridiculously creative (she also runs her own business repurposing old furniture into beautiful pieces). She now edits our documentary cuts and has assisted on a few shoots. We are constantly amazed at what this girl can accomplish! And did I mention, her brand of crazy fits perfect with ours?!
We are now a team of four. And I think it’s just the right mix. We have the best time together creating films for our couples! We laugh, we cry, and we get goose bumps crafting these films for our new friends. If you are ever downtown St. Louis, you may catch us taking a break at one of our favorite lunch stops. If you spot us, come say, ‘Hello!”. We’d love to meet you!
